A&E Construction Co. has been awarded the contract to construct a new Giant Food Store located at the intersection of Routes 320 and 420 in Springfield, PA. The 70,400 SF supermarket project is a single story masonry building with mezzanine levels in the front and back. The structure has a steel joist roof and steel columns. Multiple finishes include VCT, wall coverings, ceramic tile, FRP, paint and acoustical ceiling tile. Site work included sidewalks, curbing, grading, paving, installation of a new storm water system, and erosion and sedimentation control measures for the building.

The construction schedule for completion of this location is 26 weeks. Prior to this, Giant’s construction schedule has been 32 weeks for completion.
