04.17.2007 - A&E Construction awarded a Construction Management contract by The Merion Cricket Club
A&E Construction has been awarded a Construction Management
contract by The Merion Cricket Club to provide preconstruction and construction-phase
services for a multi-phased renovation of their clubhouse in Haverford, Pennsylvania. This project
involves an addition to their grand porch to create an Informal Dining area for members. In addition,
renovations of the main kitchen, Informal & Formal Dining areas, food storage area, employee lounge, and laundry
facilities are also included. The Clubhouse’s mechanical/electrical systems will also be upgraded and an elevator will
also be installed in the Clubhouse.
The architect for the renovation of the clubhouse, which
was originally designed by Frank Furness in 1896 and is a National Historic Landmark, is Wallace Roberts & Todd of Philadelphia.
The construction cost for this multi-million dollar renovation will be determined once the complete scope of the project is confirmed.
Preconstruction services will begin immediately. Construction will start in September 2007 with substantial completion anticipated
in May 2008.
