6.12.2008 - A&E Construction has been awarded a construction contract by the Oakmont Fire Company to demolish their existing fire house and to construct a new fire house in Havertown, Pennsylvania.
The project involves the complete demolition of the existing single-story fire house located on West Benedict Avenue in Havertown. The new facility will be a 7,900 square-foot, two-story masonry fire house that will be built on the same site. In addition to four Engine Bays, the new fire house will include a Crew Room, Engineer’s Room, Radio Room, Line & Board Office, and the Chief’s Office on the first floor. The second level will feature Locker Rooms, Men’s & Women’s Shower Rooms, Board Room, Training Room, Board Office, and a Kitchen. In addition, miscellaneous Site Improvements are also part of the contract.
The architect for the project, which has a construction budget of approximately $2,300,000, is Casaccio Architects of Havertown, Pennsylvania. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2008 with occupancy expected in January 2009.
