8.06.2007 - A&E Construction awarded a contract by Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown, PA
A&E Construction has been awarded a contract by Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania to provide preconstruction services for a proposed Family Life Center and Multi-purpose Room that is being constructed adjacent to their church in Jenkintown. Construction of these facilities had already begun by another contractor who will not be completing the project. Following this preconstruction phase, it is anticipated that A&E and the church would agree to a Guaranteed Maximum Price that will allow A&E to complete the construction of the facilities.
The two-story Family Life Center encompasses the renovation of 14,000 square feet in an existing facility and will provide space for offices, classrooms, conference rooms, and rest rooms. The adjoining Multi-purpose Room is an 8,000 square-foot renovation to an existing building and includes storage areas and rest rooms, in addition to a full-service kitchen and a large meeting/seating area. These two facilities will be connected by a 1,000 square-foot atrium that will serve as the entry into both spaces.
The architect for the project is Kramer-Marks of Ambler, Pennsylvania and the owner’s representative is the Doylestown, Pennsylvania office of Pennoni Associates. Preconstruction services will begin immediately while construction of the project, which has a completion budget of approximately $2,000,000, is slated to begin in August 2007 with occupancy expected in January 2008.
