04.30.2007 - A&E Construction awarded a contract by Swarthmore College to renovate Underhill Library

A&E Construction has been awarded a contract by Swarthmore College to renovate Underhill Library, the college’s music library located in the Lang Music Building. The project encompasses 2,700 square feet on two levels. The scope of the project includes new finishes for the main two-level stacks/reading room, a new circulation desk and librarian’s office, the conversion of an office into a seminar room, and the renovation of the composing room. In addition, the library’s mechanical/electrical systems will be updated.

This project represents the second project that A&E has been awarded at Swarthmore. The architect for this renovation, which has a construction cost of approximately $350,000, is Cicada Architecture of Philadelphia. Construction will begin in early June 2007 and will be completed by August 2007.
