1.23.2007 - A&E to Build Lifestyle Center in Easton, Maryland
A&E Construction has been awarded a contract by BET Investments of Huntingdon Valley, PA to construct the first two phases of Waterside Village in Easton, Maryland. Located at the intersection of Route 322 and St. Michaels Road in Easton, the complex is a new mixed-use development that will encompass a 188-acre site along Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
This first phase involves the construction of two retail/office buildings totaling over 63,000 square feet that will house a Blinds to Go, Starbucks, and other retailers, as well as office space for Smith Barney. Complete turnkey space for Famous Footwear and PetSmart are also included in A&E’s scope of work. The construction cost for this first phase is approximately $7,400,000..
Additional retail/office phases are anticipated to be negotiated with A&E. Future phases on the site may also involve a movie theater complex and a 100-room hotel.
The architect for the project is Freeman Morgan Architects of Richmond, VA. Construction is slated to begin in February with substantial completion of this first phase to be completed September 2007.
